1. Surya Namaskara or Sun Salutation is believed to vitalise the solar energy of the body which flows through a fundamental Nadi channel of the body called as Pingala Nadi.
2. Surya Namaskar is recommended to be done 8-12 rounds, slowly for spiritual benefits and quickly for physical benefits. In special cases, a daily practice of 108 rounds may be undertaken for purification.

According to "Art Of Living", while practicing Ashtanga Namaskara (6th pose), the solar plexus corresponding to "Naval Chakra", the reservoir of energy, gets activated releasing a lot of energy in the body making us feel very energetic, if done with proper awareness, one can feel the flow of energy, starting from Naval Chakra to the entire body.
